Core Beliefs
The following are the core beliefs of Buckeye Christian Church based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.
God
God
There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise. God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom, justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
Christ
Christ
Christ alone died for the sins of the world so that man could be restored to a saving relationship with God. God wants all people to be saved.
Mankind
Mankind
Humans, both male and female, were created in God's image for His glory. Humans are born sinless, but with a desire to sin. All have sinned and have fallen short of God's glory which destroys our relationship with God.
Holy Spirit
Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit dwells in every person who becomes a Christian. A person is given the gift of the Holy Spirit at the time of Baptism.
The Bible
The Bible
Both the Old and New Testaments are given to us so we can understand God, His Kingdom, and His plan of salvation for all of man kind. The Bible is the one true authority for man kind and the Church.
Resurrection
Resurrection
We believe in the literal bodily resurrection of Jesus from the grave to save us from our sins.
Salvation
Salvation
Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. God raised him from the dead and now, by grace, offers as a free gift eternal life to all who believes in the Lord, repents, acknowledges Christ as their Savior, gets baptized by immersion and remains faithful to the Lord. That is why salvation can be found in Christ alone.
Second Coming
Second Coming
Jesus Christ is returning one day to judge both the living and the dead and to usher in the fullness of God's kingdom on earth.
